Coach Tips: Essential Swimming Dos and Don'ts for Improved Arm Technique
When most people think about improving their swimming technique, it’s most often about how to pull on the water ‘harder’ in order to create more power. However, your arm stroke in swimming is not just about creating power, but placing your hands and arms in the right position so that when you generate propulsion, it is done in the right direction.
On top of that, your arms have to recover out of the water in order to return to the water for the next propulsive stroke. How you connect this continuous cycle of recovery/propulsion will also determine how much force you can maintain on the water in order to maximize your performance.
Check out our posts below for more detailed tips on what to do, and what NOT to do, in order to improve your swimming arm technique which will lead to faster swimming.
