Pacing to Perfection: FORM and Pho3nix Sub7Sub8 Partner to Break Barriers

FORM Smart Swim Goggles to provide real-time metric tracking and swim training analysis to athletes competing in Sub7/Sub8 triathlon record attempt.

Sydney, Australia – Today, Mana Global and the Pho3nix Foundation announce FORM as the official Swim Technology Partner of the Pho3nix Sub7 and Sub8 Project, Powered by Zwift.

Set for June 5, 2022 at the Dekra Lausitzring racetrack in Germany, thePho3nix Sub7 and Sub8 Project, Powered by Zwift will see triathlon champions Alistair Brownlee, Kristian Blummenfelt, Nicola Spirig, and Kat Matthews attempt to break seven hours for men and eight hours for women over the full distance of triathlon.

Getting the swim pacing right is crucial for the Sub7 and Sub8 athletes both in training and on race day. Maintaining a strong, strategic pace during the first leg of a triathlon will make or break any race, whether it’s for a podium or a best times. For the first time, the athletes, as well as their swim pacers, will be able to train and race with live data powered by FORM Goggles.

FORM gives athletes real-time access to essential data right in their goggles, revolutionising the world of swimming. Their immersive smart goggle technology displays data on a transparent lens, allowing swimmers to make the most out of every workout without counting laps or using a pace clock. With over 800 workouts in the FORM Swim App, one can sync a workout to their goggles, be guided through it in the pool, and then analyze their swims to determine strengths and areas for improvement.

“There’s no room in triathlon for wasted time. With FORM’s Smart Swim Goggles, athletes can get live data on pace, time, and distance, optimizing effort and saving critical seconds and minutes,” says Dan Eisenhardt, Founder, and CEO of FORM. “Whether it's during training or on the day of the event, FORM will be an indispensable partner for the world’s fastest multi-sport athletes as they crush the full distance triathlon and beat the clock.”

Pho3nix Foundation board member and Mana Global CEO Chris McCormack adds, “FORM is a natural partner because their unique technology will not only help our athletes prepare for and maintain their target pace on race day, but it will give spectators a critical insight into what’s happening in the water, as it unfolds. We know we’re being ambitious with this record attempt and are confident FORM Goggles will contribute toward smashing these times.”

FORM connects to all major fitness tracking platforms, including TrainingPeaks, Strava, Final Surge, and Today’s Plan. FORM Smart Swim Goggles ship globally and are available at formswim.com. The FORM Swim App is available as a free download from the App Store and from Google Play™.
