10 Swim and Triathlon Podcasts You Should Subscribe to Today

Whether you’re on your way to swimming practice or spending another few hours on the bike trainer, podcasts are a great way to supplement that time, teach you something new, share a new perspective, or keep you up to date with the latest Tri or swim news. In the list below, we’re sharing our 10 favourite swim and triathlon podcasts that we recommend you listen to. Let us know if you already tune in to any of the below, or have more to add!

Pro Tri News

With a rotating cast of four presenters, Pat Lemieux (Gwen Jorgensen's husband), Talbot Cox, Mark Matthews (Kat Matthew's husband), and Kyle Glass discuss all the latest happenings in the world of professional triathlon. Covering racing over all Tri distances, recaps, predictions, opinions, and sometimes controversial ‘Hot Takes’, Pro Tri News has fast evolved to being a trusted (and fun) source to get reliable and up-to-date Triathlon news from around the sport.

Effortless Swimming

Hosted by former Australian national team swimmer and coach Brenton Ford, the Effortless Swimming podcast breaks down all the complexities and nuances of the sport of swimming, providing actionable insights on the technique, inspiring interviews with accomplished swimmers, and talking through all facets of the sport, whether you’re an open water swimmer, committed triathlete, or learning to swim in the pool for the first time.

That Triathlon Life (TTL)

TTL describe their pod as, ‘Pro Triathletes Eric Lagerstrom, and Paula Findlay, team up with their friend and amateur triathlete Nick Goldston to hang out and answer questions about triathlon.’ We think there’s a bit more to it than that! Paula and Eric share personal race recaps and the three discuss training, nutrition, gear, tips and tricks. They also answer listener questions and talk about bigger-picture ideas and philosophies about the sport of triathlon.

The SwimSwam Podcast

In the SwimSwam Podcast dive deeper into the sport of elite swimming with all the latest swim news as well as insider conversations and athlete interviews. Hosted by Coleman Hodges and Gold Medal Mel Stewart, SwimSwam welcomes both the biggest names in swimming that you already know, and rising stars that you need to get to know, breaking down the past, present, and future of aquatic sports.

The Triathlon Hour

The Triathlon Hour, formerly the How They Train Podcast, simply began with host Jack Kelly asking pro triathletes all about how they train. Since then Jack’s pod has evolved to cover extensive previews and analysis of pro racing, in-depth interviews with pros (he has an uncanny knack for getting the best athletes on his show), and handing the mic over to athletes to host their own pods-within-a-pod through his ‘Chase Pack’, and ‘Breadwinners’ series’.

Tower26 - Be Race Ready

Tower26 was created by Triathlon's go-to swim expert Coach, Gerry Rodrigues, and USAT Certified Coach/Professional Triathlete, Jim Lubinski. On the Be Race Ready podcast, Gerry and Jim help triathletes get the most return out of their swim preparation by covering all the essential topics and ingredients that are necessary to make triathletes better and safer swimmers. Through Gerry's countless years of coaching thousands of triathletes and Jim's racing, training, and coaching experience, they take on all topics relevant to triathlon swimming.

The World Triathlon Podcast

The folks at Triathlete.com put it best, ‘With the 2024 Olympics fast approaching, there’s no better time to sink your teeth into the hype and drama as the fastest triathletes on the planet pursue their dream of Olympic gold.’ The World Triathlon Podcast interviews the top-performing Olympic-distance triathletes as well as those who are looking to make a name for themselves at this year's 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.

The Löw Tide Böyz

Not only are Chipper and Chris two of the nicest people you’ll meet, but through Löw Tide Böyz they are on a mission to help grow the sport of Swimrun while striving to make it as accessible, inclusive, and diverse as possible. Their podcast is a window into the new-ish sport of Swimrun where they interview race directors, athletes, and cool people in the Swimrun space all while chronicling their training and racing adventures and having a whole lotta fun along the way!

Inside with Brett Hawke

Brett’s mission is to, ‘cultivate an environment that encourages shared knowledge, continuous growth, and collective learning.’ A former Olympian and accomplished elite swim coach, Brett has featured over 500 of the world’s most talented Olympic swimmers, Olympic swim coaches, top business leaders, political figures, and experts across dozens of disciplines on his pod. Through conversation, he brings the stories, struggles, and victories of the world’s best to life.

Champions Mojo

This podcast talks about topics that are interesting and important to Masters Swimmers, or anyone who wants to be swim-inspired. Co-hosted by Kelly Palace and Maria Parker, both hosts bring their record-setting masters' experience and knowledge to the show. Kelly and Maria chat with champions, coaches and experts, and explore what makes a champion in sports, but most importantly in life, through deep questions, fun quizzes and an authentic desire to inspire others.
